The scatback had 48 carries for 267 yards and 9 touchdowns, with 39 catches for 715 yards and 10 touchdowns with 35 total tackles (17 solo, 18 assisted), 1 INT, and 7 PD. He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, balance, and jumping. As a receiver, he has a very good release. He beats the DB against the press jam with ease. Very good separation quickness. He outruns the DB with ease. Lake has very strong hands and very good catching. He’ll pluck the ball out of the air and use his suction hands to come down with the case. Good body adjustment and body control. As a running back, he has very good vision and very good inside running. He picks, slides, and accelerates into the open hole gashing the defense. Lake is an electric playmaker.

Few players in 3A have been as versatile and productive as Lake. As a receiver, he’s hauled in 29 passes for 543 yards and 10 touchdowns, proving to be a nightmare for defensive backs. But his impact doesn’t stop there, on the ground, Lake has carried the ball 35 times for 213 yards and eight more scores. His ability to line up anywhere on the field gives his offense tremendous flexibility and keeps defenses guessing. Lake’s combination of burst, field vision and elusiveness make him a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. His ability to catch screens, take a jet sweep, or winning deep routes makes Lake an impact player for his team’s success and a true all-purpose standout.

I’ve talked about Lake a ton before, and with good reason. This season, he’s putting it all together. He currently leads all Colorado players with the most points. Through 4 games, he has 21 carries for 160 yards and 6 touchdowns, with 17 receptions for 319 yards and 7 touchdowns, 13 total tackes, 1 INT, and 4 PD. He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, balance, and good jumping. Anytime the ball is in his hands, he is a home run threat. Lake can turn on the jets at any moment. Good release. Very good separation quickness. Good ball tracking and very good catching. Good on contested catches. Strong hands to hold onto ball after the catch with defenders trying to rip it out. Very good body control and adjustment paired with his line awareness. Keeps both feet in bounds on sideline catches, or the back of the endzone. Used as an option QB as well. Very good vision with very good inside and outside running. Lake is a gamebreaker on the field and is one of the most productive players in Colorado at this point in the season.

Lake is a Swiss Army knife who contributes as a quarterback, running back, and receiver. His greatest impact comes as a receiver, where his precise route running and breakaway speed allow him to create separation. Once he has the ball, he is a homerun threat, capable of taking any play to the house. Additionally, he shines in the return game, using his elusiveness and vision to flip the field and give his team favorable field position. Lake’s versatility makes him a dangerous weapon on any offense.
