Steelman has already proven himself as one of the top running backs in the Mid-Atlantic, with a few P4 offers to his name. On a couple of his routes, he shaked and baked the linebackers around the top of the route, leaving the defenders flat-footed as he made sharp breaks get open for the catch. Did a great job of selling routes. On one rep that was a deep, got a good look at his ability to accelerate while the ball is in the air. Thought he was explosive out of cuts on outs, angle routes and out-and ups. His all-around skills are the reason he’s Virginia’s No. 1 running back/athlete.

Steelman has an early offer from West Virginia. During the 2025 season, he carried the football 154 times for 1,833 yards and 23 touchdowns. He’s on the smaller side but he’s a big playmaker. Steelman’s breakaway speed stands out in the first several plays of his highlights. I do like his ability to navigate through traffic, which is a credit to his excellent vision. I definitely think he’s a sleeper when it comes to the recruitment side of things. At least for now.
