is brings a toughness, grit and energy that team’s need to win games in the playoffs. A tone-setter on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, expect Spotts to make big hits as a middle linebacker and to deliver punishment as a ball-carrier.
As aggressive at hitting the hole on defense as he is on offense, Spotts plays with an emotion that is infectious for his team. One of my personal favorite northwest Iowa prospects, Spotts is a workhorse back between the tackles that will make defenses pay for trying to bring him down, will lead block for his quarterback out of the backfield, will take on anyone from the opposing team no matter their size, and, displayed further his willingness and ability to do anything to help his team win on Friday, making an impressive, one-handed catch out of the backfield on 4th and 10 to score a touchdown.

has certainly been on college radars for a while — especially from in-state schools. Spotts holds interest from Wartburg, Central in Pella, Buena Vista, Dordt, Coe, Iowa Central and Morningside in addition to an offer from three-time NAIA national champions, Northwestern in Orange City.
With 45 tackles, including six TFLs, Spotts was a name to know on opposing team scouting reports last season, too.
This year, he’s taken it to a new level, especially in getting after the quarterback. Spotts is the top sack-getter in 2A with seven, which places him tied for nineth in all classes. Pair that with 86 carries for 414 yards and five scores, and the hard-hitting senior has established himself as one of the top players in northwest Iowa.

A linebacker/running back hybrid that opponents don’t enjoy matching up with,

is a hard-hitter on both sides of the ball. An LB that will plug gaps in opposing offensive lines as a stalwart tackler, and a running back that puts his head down and punishes would-be tacklers, Spotts is an opponent teams in NW Iowa fear to face. He’ll provide excellent balance on the ground to the passing attack centered around DeJean, Gilbert and Parks, making the Falcon offense difficult to read and prepare for.
Last season, Spotts led the OABCIG rushing attack with 94 carries for 666 yards and seven touchdowns, and he finished third in tackles with 45, including six tackles-for-loss and two sacks.
With just one offer to his name from Northwestern College, Spotts could leap up the rankings and earn a plethora of JUCO, NAIA and D3 offers this fall.

Spotts gets overshadowed with the talent on his high school roster. He’s a prospect deserving of more attention from colleges, though. Spotts contributed on offense last season but shined as a linebacker adept at stopping the run or sticking with receivers. He could fit at linebacker for some schools on the next level. Speed and athleticism make him capable of playing safety, too. While defense seems like his probable home, he displays receiving skills during 7-on-7.
