was turning heads all day at the showcase. Having his senior season cut short due to a significant injury he sustained, Williams showed why he is still one of the best defensive backs in the state. He is physical at the line of scrimmage with sound technique, able to reroute receivers with ease. He does an outstanding job trailing from the hip pocket of the receiver when in man. His ball skills and ability to break up passes are tremendous, utilizing his lengthy frame and long arms to highpoint the ball. Williams is a remarkable defensive back and will be on a mission to prove he is one of the best in Houston.

Williams is still flying under the recruiting radar and would be a steal for the college that lands him. 6’1” 170 lbs. he’s smooth in his backpedal with the quick feet and transitional speed to match receiver’s movement. Plus ball skills, he shows he can compete for the ball at the high point with good timing and leaping ability. Tracks the ball well through the air, especially in deep coverage. Uses his hands well to reroute receivers and throw them off balance at the LOS and disrupt their line. Tracks the hip and is able to run the route with the receiver to be in position to make a play. Initially offered by Utah State back in February and added Arizona Christian this summer but deserves to see a bump in his senior season.

has a great feel for the game as a defensive back. Able to read both the quarterback and the receivers as the routes developed around him, he always seems to be in the right spot and has the athletic ability to make a play on just about every throw. At 6’0″ 175 lbs, Williams is a player who can make a real difference at every level. As a junior, he not only finished the season with eight passes defensed and two interceptions but also came up with a sack. This type of versatility is going to make a massive impact on Chaparral’s defense in 2024, and also makes Williams a player you don’t want to miss.

embodies what coaches and scouts look for in a modern-day cornerback. With an ideal build, he’s well-suited to contest larger receivers in physical battles, while his impressive speed ensures he doesn’t get left behind by the speedsters. His proficiency in press coverage, bolstered by his inherent physicality, essentially takes his assigned receiver out of the equation. Williams has a natural feel for the flow of the game and the situation which helps him to make big plays in key moments.
Keep an eye on Williams whenever the ball is in the air. With his combination of physicality and speed, coupled with his football IQ, I expect him to be a thorn in the side for the Brophy offense.
