About Jaquise
Expert Analysis
Bryan Ault | Prep Redzone Scout
Very disruptive defensive tackle who commanded multiple blockers and registered multiple sacks. Good first-step quickness, has a nose for the ball, wraps up on contact and can control the line of scrimmage. Plays with good bend, has a good motor and is relentless in pursuit. Holds two Division I offers.

is another defensive lineman who stood out as a sophomore. Smith lines up at defensive tackle where he is a dominant run stopper. He does a great job of using his strength to fight straight through blocks on his way to the ball carrier. Smith has also shown the speed to shoot gaps and get into the backfield to make the tackle before the opposing offensive line has a chance to block him. He finished this past season with 27 tackles and 14 tackles for loss in 14 games while also accounting for three sacks. Jaquise recently picked up his first offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber prospect.

. Smith lines up at defensive tackle where he is a force against the run. He explodes out of his stance and uses his strength and high motor to fight through blocks with ease on his way to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he drives his feet through contact to secure the tackle and not allow for any extra yards to be gained. Jaquise finished his sophomore year with 32 tackles and 14 tackles for loss in 14 games. Smith also showed the ability to rush the passer, finishing this past season with three sacks. Jaquise doesn’t currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

is a player who jumped onto my radar last season and has continued to make an impact as a sophomore. Smith lines up at defensive tackle where he is very reliable against the run. He plays with a ton of physicality, showing the ability to stack and shed blocks with ease. Smith also has shown the speed to get to the ball carrier in a hurry to make the tackle in the open field. Jaquise has recorded five tackles and three tackles for loss through two games. He has also shown the ability to rush the passer, recording one sack so far this season. Jaquise doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is definitely a player to keep a close eye on.
