Anytime you see a sub 10.8 100-meter dash time on the track and that prospect also is a wide receiver, that alone in this neck of the woods should get next-level attention, but not quite yet for Minot’s

. That speed translates well for James as a route-runner, as one that has a well-versed route tree that can be a great athlete on all three levels. He’s one of the most poised wide receivers in both Dakotas with contested catches, as James time and time on tape looks smooth on vertical or horizontal routes with his hands. No offers yet and really light interest.

Another Minot Magician that moved up our 2027 North Dakota rankings board was James Pallota. The 6’0 180 pounder has the verified track speed that will intrigue college coaches as he ran a 10.79 in his junior season. He shows off that burn of speed that we referenced quickly on tape as I was quite impressed with the balance he has as a pass-catcher along the edges of the field as a wide receiver that has natural hands in high-traffic areas. In my eyes, James is one of the most poised wide receivers in this part of the state as again, that natural progression on his routes soars on routes that are on the second or third level of the field. Under the radar recruiting thus far in the 2027 class but is another that just took a a junior day visit to NDSU as it’s clear why I put James in my preview as a WR prospect that could rise by next update.

The first 2027 that catches my attention in this “needs more attention” category is Minot’s James Pallota. He runs a 10.79 100-meter dash on the track and it doesn’t take you long to see that speed that’s there as a route-runner especially as a deep-ball threat. The 6’0 180 pounder, doesn’t need much of a window to make his receptions as a wide receiver that really grew from a poise perspective in his junior season for the Magicians. There are 2027s that need attention and there are the ones that need A LOT more attention, and James fits in that a lot category in my eyes.
