He is physical at the point of attack. In the run game he’s always playing fast, under control, and with good pad level. He did a great job blitzing the interior of the offensive line and creating pressure on the Quarterback.

Jakobe Clapper Jakobe Clapper 6'2" | 200 lbs | DB/LB St. Xavier | 2026 State OH is a standout outside linebacker and the Irish are getting a big-time keeper. Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman will get a great sideline-to-sideline OLB with excellent range and a high motor. An excellent run defender, Clapper is a strong point-of-attack LB, flashes explosiveness, and flies to the ball.

Clapper is an explosive, twitchy and very instinctive linebacker who flies to the ball. He is a strong pass rusher with great edge speed. Clapper has a tall and lengthy frame with plenty of room to grow at Notre Dame, and the Irish are getting a clear blue-chip prospect with loads of potential.

Jakobe Clapper Jakobe Clapper 6'2" | 200 lbs | DB/LB St. Xavier | 2026 State OH has become an excellent linebacker prospect for St. Xavier, making him an X-Factor. Clapper is a very good run defender. He is very disciplined, can read the backfield, and can make the right play to cover gaps. He tackles well and can meet you one-on-one physically. Whether he plays the weak side or roams the middle, he can make plays on the ball and shut down runs. He is athletic and can get into the backfield quickly on blitzes. He uses his hands well in pass rush and can overwhelm offensive linemen with his combination of strength and quickness.

At 6’2 200 pounds Clapper is a good blend of physicality and athleticism. He plays the game on a downward plain. He attacks blockers with violent hands and the ability to bend and dip to get around them. In the pass game he has the fluidity and ball skills to make plays. He has the speed to rundown in the run game and to run with tight ends and running backs in the pass game. College coaches have taken notice as he’s already received offers from ACC and Big Ten schools. With a strong camp season he should continue to stack.
