About Jacob

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a wash, rinse, repeat type of player. The more repetition I have, the better I become. Watching film and studying my opponent is something I pride myself in doing, especially with coaches that I work with. Physical contact is the name of the game in the trenches and I love to use my size and strength against my opponent.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love football but I love being a good person better. I am often the one picking up players that fall (team and opponents) and the one that makes sure to show respect to my opponent after a game before celebrating with my team. My mentality is to constantly try to go 1-0 everyday and 1% better, realizing it is ok to fail occasionally.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have spent the last two off seasons working with local coaches around Metro Detroit. Often times I can be found after practice working with younger lineman, passing on my experience to them to help improve their game, ultimately improving our team. On film you will see me play to the whistle, finishing my blocks and then reaching down to help an opponent back to his feet.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

After playing my freshman year of football, I decided to pursue a serious path of playing in college. This led me to giving up my sophomore season to eventually transfer to Dearborn Divine Child HS. after a long 678 day layoff from game action, I restarted my game, leading to a 2025 Michigan Division 4 State Championship. 2026 begins with Rising Stars and Win Up Front training.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will stress academics and provide resources to helping me achieve my college degree. Family is very important and I thrive when I feel that I am part of a family-especially one that looks out not only for me football wise but also academically and emotionally. I would like to be in a program that values me and will allow me to play pretty early on in my career.

Jacob is an intriguing prospect that is starting to heat up! He’s a big and physical presence that gets under the pads of his opponents and does whatever he wants. He absolutely passes the eye test both with his size and how he moves as well. Kent State just extended an offer and at this pace, I could see quite a few more come his way before long. Taylor will absolutely be a name to know in 2026.
