Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A big, nasty offensive lineman from Massachusetts who will play his junior season at Rabun-Gap, Burns is a powerful interior lineman with plenty of size at 6-foot-6 285-pounds. He’s tough, physical, and one of the hottest offensive linemen in Georgia right now. He camped at the University of Georgia over the weekend and performed well enough to earn an offer from the in-state Bulldogs. His stock has soared over the last several weeks and more offers are likely to come his way. He’s bound for a giant junior season and currently ranked as the No. 9 OL prospect in the state for the 2027 class.

A Massachusetts native who will be playing his junior season in North Georgia at Rabun Gap, Burns will give the mighty Eagles another big, mean, physical lineman who knows how to put defenders on the ground. He brings an outstanding 6-foot-6 285-pound frame and has the potential to play anywhere along the line. He plays with a balanced base, good leverage, and with a mean streak, blocking with max-effort until the whistle is blown. He shows above-average athleticism for someone his size and earned a new recent offer from the Rutgers Scarlett Knights.

A new offensive line prospect to know about in North Georgia, Burns is a mean, aggressive, lean interior guard who brings a lengthy 6-foot-6 285-pound frame to the table. He moves well, plays with good leverage, and was a pancake machine in the run game last fall. He can overpower defenders with his pure size and strength with the potential to continue adding more good weight and muscle over the next two years. His stock is on the rise, and now this promising lineman has earned a new offer from Pittsburgh. Look for Burns to be added to the next Prep Redzone rankings in the next spring update.

Burns is not only currently the #1 overall player in the New England rankings on PrepRedzone, but the Tabor Academy offensive tackle is holding offers from several ACC schools, including multiple G5 programs in the northeast.
Burns is a huge prospect. He actually plays guard for Tabor, as they have so many long, lean tackle prospects already. He shows good bend and snaps out of his stance on the interior. While he still is raw as a blocker, he oozes potential as a prospect, especially the versatility he can bring to a team.

Jacob is ranked the number 1 prospect in New England for Class of 2027. He is headed into a direction of a National recruit with his high interest from FBS schools across the nation. He currently holds eight Division 1 offers picking up two more since the showcase at Tabor Academy on May 15th. His most recent offer was was an sec offer from University of Kentucky. At the showcase he moved fluidly through drills with good balance. He is a very lean athlete with excellent feet. He proved why he is the number 1 ranked prospect in New England. I expect Jacob recruiting process to continue to soar piling up more offers as he gets through the fall of 2024.
