Excited for this young man’s senior year over at Cheltenham. I was skeptical of his game for too long, Brooks now has eyes directly on him, there is no surprising the PRZ crew anymore. That comes with some added pressure. Brooks will be the lone senior that we are expecting to serve a starting role along the defensive line, his voice should boom a bit louder in the defensive huddle than it has in the past. There’s a ton of young talent surrounding Brooks at all three levels, his experience and leadership skills will likely prove invaluable at some point this season. Brooks has come to PRZ camps and proven he can win against Division One talent, despite what many, like myself, thought of him beforehand. Brooks proved to FCS and D2 schools alike that he can hold his own. Hopefully, Brooks can keep the momentum rolling in a positive manner now that we head into August. A great GPA, a great attitude toward all things football, we want to see Brooks hold down the A & B gaps and prove all of his offseason work was worth it. We think he’ll do just that.

A prime example of why I want prospects to come to our camp.

can stand tall saying I was dead wrong about his ranking. Not many can say that, as I take pride in being as accurate as I can possibly be from afar. I’m strict on prospects meeting the collegiate measurement thresholds, especially soon-to-be-seniors, Brooks is undersized, yet there might not be another position more attuned to throwing measurables out of the window, speaking on IDL/NG. Brooks’ tape is a bit limited, would love to see more production, but seeing him work against some elite OL has me under the impression that more work/reps are headed his way. Expect to see an easy jump into the top 50 DL, we’ll see if he can propel into the top 35 among classmates, not an easy thing to do. The next update coming in May.

The “surprise” of the camp. We come into these camps with expectations that new names will outperform some of the higher-ranked prospects in the building. Always happens. This camp’s surprise was Cheltenham’s Isiaah Brooks. His stock rose exponentially. Legitimately don’t recall a rep lost at IDL/NG. All DL coaches raved about his performance throughout the camp. He, like JJ, Slaughter, and Gorman, could have easily been named DL MVP.
