- 6’4, 200 pounds. 80-inch wingspan. 4.2 GPA. Should be considered a serious TE prospect, yet love his projection to EDGE/OLB.
- Has six minutes worth of tape from his Fall season at Cheltenham. Was ranked inside the Top 50 (2027 PA) initially, now just outside the Top 100, yet I’m inclined to put Montgomery back inside the Top 100 after a tape restudy.
- Up two inches and down 25 pounds since our last measurable update, a significant improvement for coaches wanting him to stay twitchy. Seven sacks in eight games. Comfortable playing with his hand off the dirt, adding fuel to the fire that this kid could develop into a Division One EDGE rusher. Tape proves he can win with hand usage, both inside and out, best trait is his closing speed to the ball once shedding is complete. Not everything comes via speed off the EDGE, Montgomery has a few sacks that come purely based on strength and effort. I wouldn’t label Montgomery an all-around multi-faceted EDGE prospect quite yet, but it’s nice to see he isn’t a one-trick pony. Easy Division One grade, would love to see him in person again to see if he’s truly raised his ceiling in terms of recruiting.

currently ranks as the highest-rated Panther on roster, the young man’s athletic potential and room to grow in maturity (body) has me aligning towards Montgomery being a special EDGE/TE hybrid. I hope someone is in his corner teaching him all the tools necessary to combat some of the best tackles District One has to offer. I hope to find validation through Montgomery’s tape, which shows an occasional swiping of the hands, said tape shows off inside and outside moves from a two-point stance. A massive jump in production would have MAC schools clamoring for positioning in no time, this being my personal opinion. 2027 rankings are being updated as we speak, Montgomery won’t be losing his spot among the class’s best.

STANDOUT TRAIT ON TAPE: Arm Length, Inside/Outside moves
Yet another Cheltenham freshman showing promise. Boasts a three-minute tape, much of which I believe to be varsity reps. Cheltenham deploys a three down-lineman front, with four backers making up the front seven.

‘s stature and build has him serving as a 3-4 DE with his hand in the dirt, or (more often) a 3-4 OLB who can set the edge and/or rush the passer with his hand off the turf. Limb length stands out immediately, Montgomery likes to flash speed off the snap, while locking out his arms after shooting into the chest of OT/TEs. The space created by this lengthy punch gives Montgomery ample room to shed or dip inside and out. The best pass-rushers in the world often have speed, power, and length, making it damn near impossible for OT to get into thier chest to be steered. Montgomery is clearly working on the speed and length side of the pass-rsuhing spectrum. I could easily see this young man blow up and follow in the footsteps of many special Panthers pass-rushers from the past. Good hustle/motor, good pursuit skills too, excpeting him to make a leap this coming Fall.
