Barksdale took a noticeable step forward during his sophomore season and now joins a Polar Bear program that should provide an excellent opportunity for his continued development. He’ll compete for the starting running back job, but regardless of who opens the season atop the depth chart, expect Barksdale to earn plenty of touches. His arrival gives Fairmont Senior another quality option in an already talented backfield and adds valuable competition heading into the season. I’m interested to see how his game progresses in his new environment, as he has the tools to become an important part of the Polar Bears’ offense over the next two years.

Byrd running back Isaac Barksdale Isaac Barksdale 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Fairmont Senior | 2028 State WV , but the limited film makes you excited for his future. Barksdale has just a handful of clips available to evaluate but clearly has playmaking ability and dynamic potential. He looks like the type of athlete who just has a natural feel for the game and knows what to do with the ball to make a big play. We’re looking forward to seeing more from Barksdale to get a better picture of his game, but he’s definitely a prospect to keep tabs on.
