train for a couple years now and yet after all that barking, he only has one D2 offer on his recruiting trail thus far. I think he’s one of the best nose tackles in the Dakotas in this class and blends his high motor with power and agility that fire out quickly with his first step and is super fluid at 6’2 275 pounds and has been for a while. He’s excellent at unlocking his hands with great timing and pursuit angles on a persistent basis. He’s been a DL MVP for almost a couple of years now at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase and surely should have more attention than he does right now.

-Watching Ian on tape this season, you can see the added finesse that has developed with his pass-rush moves as he’s always had great strength in his hands but the get off too has gotten faster.
-The versatility of his pass-rush moves has also grown in his junior season as one of my favorite defensive tackles in this 2027 class in the Dakotas.
-Seen a good chunk of live evals from Ian that show off a great work ethic and high motor which is evident has stayed consistent on tape this season.

I am old enough to remember when Ian’s older brother Lucas (UND) was the North Dakota Player of the Year and Ian has surely been one that we have been on since he was a freshmen at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, being in our top tier and then that spring, winning our DL MVP in Sioux Falls. The 6’2 280 pounder is the second trench monster we have in our top 10 out of Bismarck Century, and has some of the most instinctive shedding hands amongst the defensive tackle group in the Dakotas in this 2027 class. He also has one of the best first steps in the class and the balance in those steps can carry inside or outside. You can quickly tell Ian is one that watches his tape on the offensive linemen he goes up against, as the football IQ Ian has is excellent. Ian is yet another Division I target in this class surely in what is a DEEP top 10 in the North Dakota trenches.

The second horsemen of our DL co-MVPs was one that was inches from getting it in Jamestown in December, but after developing further skillsets since then,

of Bismarck Century took it home on Saturday. One of the youngest MVPs we have ever had at our Dakotas Combines, if you didn’t know Ian, saw his body type, or his skillsets you would think he was an upperclassmen, but the truth is, he is just an incoming sophomore. At 6’1 275 pounds, Ian shows off one of the biggest motors I have ever uncovered as a freshmen in the Midwest, as this kid never lets any rep go to waste. He has massive hands and that paid off dividends with combining his plethora of moves he has at his disposal. Ian seems like a home run to get an early offer as one that also has Division I football pedigree in his family. Great character too, that still has great upside to climb to with all the years of HS football left.

last Sunday in Jamestown at our Prep Redzone Dakota Showcase. If I had to give out an Underclassmen MVP from Sunday, it certainly would go to Ian. Even from the early reps, I was impressed with Ian’s bend for his age and especially with his loaded football IQ that is only going to keep growing over time. He also showed off a plethora of athletic moves at the point of attack that he constantly showed off in 1v1s which were eye-opening to plenty of college coaches in attendance I spoke with being just a freshmen for the Patriots. He also was very impressive with his leverage from my viewing, as a 1st-Team All Camp team from my first look at him. He by far will be one of the top 2027 prospects in the Dakotas in my eyes.
