Maynard subbed in at quarterback when Pemberton had to miss some time with an injury. He was so effective he was used often once he got in – regardless of Pemberton’s status. Maynard kept the ball on the option and picked up a first down. On a designed run off-tackle, he picked up ten yards. He cut up the field on another option and bounced off a tackle for extra yards.

In one of the state’s best games from last Friday, Andover got a huge 5A victory over Elk River 63-56 and their QB play was a big part of the victory. QB/DB Hudson Maynard popped off to the tune of 14-18 (78%) for 305 passing yards and 4 TDs and added 77 rushing yards and 2 more TDs on the ground. He’s got my vote for top performance of the week overall.
