Irby measures in at 5’9 180-pounds and is a two-way presence playing LB/RB. Last season he had 73 total tackles (29 solo, 44 assisted), 4.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 2 QB pressures, 1 PD, 1 blocked punt, 16 carries for 104 yards with 2 touchdowns. Good athletic ability due to very good balance, acceleration, good change of direction, lateral quickness, and jumping. Very good read and reaction time. Irby diagnoses what he’s seeing and attacks. Watches the QB’s eyes consistently. Very good tackling. He has good get off speed and block shedding. When he’s blitzing, he exhibits explosive take off speed to get underneath the OL and into the backfield. Good sideline to sideline range. Good zone coverage as well. Look for Irby to show out this camp season.
