Henry Byrnes Henry Byrnes 6'2" | 187 lbs | DL Donovan Catholic | 2027 State NJ is listed as a defensive lineman, but his game points elsewhere. At 6’2”, 187 pounds, he projects best as an off-ball linebacker. The skill set fits.

What stands out is his length. Byrnes uses his arms well to stack, separate, and string runs out. He fights through blocks and consistently puts himself in position to make plays. He plays with intent and good leverage.

Athletically, he moves smoothly. He can play downhill and close space quickly. He’s also comfortable in coverage. The tape shows reps against tight ends and running backs, including downfield routes. That versatility matters.

Byrnes earned All-Jersey First Team Linebacker honors, and the recognition is deserved. As more coaches dig into his film, the buzz should follow. He has the tools to become one of the more well-rounded linebackers in the 2027 class, and he’s set up for a strong 2026 season.
