Filisis is a physical runner with good power who gets better as the game goes on. He does a good job getting to the second level and has the lateral quickness to make defenders miss and has the strength to survive arm tacklers, he does a good job of lowering his pads and finishing off his run by falling forward. He has good acceleration and has the speed to outrun defenders.
Filisi is a physical runner with a quick burst to get through the hole, has the lateral quickness to make defenders miss, and has good contact balance and the power to finish off his runs.
Filipe comes in from Bingham, and he’s primed for a huge season. They are rolling out a new QB, and they’ll likely want the signal caller to be comfortable. The best friend for that is a run game, and Filipe shows good patience, has the vision you want, gets through the first level, and blends physicality and speed. He isn’t afraid to lower his pads and leave a defender feeling him. He is a physical back who will be effective in short yardage and in the red zone. He is primed to reach 10 rushing touchdowns this season.
Filipe has a good frame and overall size. He is a patient runner behind the line, displays good vision, anticipates the hole, and has good quickness and lateral movement to press the line, ride that wave, and get through the first line. Filipe blends physicality and power as a runner with good speed to outrun defenders. As a receiver, he has soft, natural hands and doesn’t fight with the ball. He quickly gets upfield and has little to no wasted movement in his game. Filipe is an excellent blocker, excels in the red and green zones, and has a nose for the end zone. He’s a high-upside player and his recruiting should pick up steam with another strong year showcasing his traits.
– Already plays with the quick-twitch instincts that linebacker coaches around the country try to get their players to improve upon
– Borders on playing an old-school school stye of smash-mouth middle linebacker that enjoys filling the hole nearly as much as making a stop in the backfield. He’s a shorter, powerful kid that lives to knock the air out of people
– We say bordering, because he’s also unassumingly quick for a player with his build. Just as quick as he can fill a hole, he can drop back into coverage and get in the proper position
– Also took reps at running back and did a good job picking up some tough yards. Won’t win any 40’s against true running back’s, but certainly a nice change-of-pace back
