Evans Bartell
About Evans
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I think that I am able to process lots of different information at the same time and that has allowed me to be a faster decision make and player on the field. Because I always have "noise" and information going on around me, I don't get rattled as easily when it comes down to important moments in the game, or when I'm isolated on the field for a big kick.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a very outgoing and social person. I enjoy being a friend to everyone, and I think that helps out on the football field because I can feel comfortable out there no matter who I'm with. I think that it also helps others to feel comfortable with me out there because they know that I'm not going to snap at them if there's a mistake. We'll get through it together and learn and change together.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I feel like I have always been a great team player and friend to anyone on my team. I may not be the most vocal person in the form of a leader, but I feel like I lead by example. I someone makes a mistake or gives up a big play, I'm there by their side on the sideline to help cheer them up and get them ready for the next play.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I think that having ADHD has been both good for me, and a challenge for me, in sports. ADHD has definitely made it harder for me to concentrate on the smaller stuff at practice, but it has helped me to assess multiple things at once during the games. I feel like it has allowed me to see and hear all things around me to not be surprised.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm looking for a college where I can get a good education and be able to help a team each week during the football season. I would like to be at a school where I get the chance to compete rather than be buried on a bench.
