quietly had one of the better receiving seasons in Class A last year and has carried that momentum over to his senior year. Through four games, Washington has recorded 25 receptions for 307 yards and three touchdowns. I was able to watch him in action against Millard North in Week 3 and thought he had a solid game. He is a very crafty receiver who excels at creating separation from defenders with his route-running ability and can finish plays with his strong hands at the catch point. Washington is especially dangerous going over the middle of the field, where he can use his quick twitch to beat slower DBs/LBs. Elon isn’t just good through the route and at the catch point, but also after the catch, where he has shown that he can take advantage of open space to tack on additional yardage. This also translates to special teams, where he’s already recorded a kickoff return for a touchdown. Elon is somewhat under the radar at the moment, but should pick up more looks as the season progresses and more coaches can check him out.

Although the Papio South Titans will be rolling out a new starting QB this fall, it will be comforting to know they will have their leading receiver from last season back for his senior year.

broke out in the Titans’ offense last season, quickly becoming the top target and ending the year with 56 receptions, 622 receiving yards, and nine receiving touchdowns. Elon is a player who we see projecting well as a slot receiver, where he can utilize his elite twitch and route-running skills to torch defenders at all levels of the field. He recognizes coverages very well and knows how to attack weaknesses in the defense, while also showing he can create separation from defenders when facing man coverage. Very strong hands— not many balls are hitting the turf when you throw Elon’s way. Washington’s crisp route running has also always stood out in his game, displaying sudden bursts, great stop/start ability, and explosiveness coming out of his breaks. Don’t miss out!
