The second running back to catch my attention in Jackrabbits country a couple Monday’s ago, hails from the Cornhusker State, in Papio South running back Derek Jones. When we threw the pads on, holy smokes did the twitch that this 2026 tailback has pop out quickly especially during the individual drills I watched. The suddeness Derek gets upfield with was evident, and I love the way this young man can cling quickly with his vision and find the open grass in the open field as it takes him no time to get there. The quick tape I watched shows that Derek will shape you out of your cleats. The couple NAIA schools that Derek has offers from in Nebarska and Iowa, have surely done their early homework in the live eval, as I feel this young man is due for more attention too with college offers.
