is a player who went somewhat under the radar on a stacked Class A runner-up roster. Gage brought a mean streak to the trenches as a key player on the offensive and defensive line. On the defensive side, Gage tallied 38 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, two blocked kicks, and a forced fumble, and might have the higher ceiling in this phase of the game. Burki’s ability to explode off the ball and either turn that into a powerful rush or use it to set up a quick speed move was very impressive on film. Gage’s excellent hand usage is also huge when disengaging from opponents, allowing him to either perform a swim/swipe move or land an accurate jab to stun blockers. He plays with surprising twitch that comes from shifty footwork and can get good bend when rushing off the edge. Gage’s motor really shines when he’s able to spill into the backfield to show off his great closing speed to the ball carrier and lateral quickness to track down scrambling QBs. On offense, Gage brings that same fiery energy to the field as a mauler in the run game and a great finisher overall. UNK has already offered the Titan’s DL/OL prospect, and we should expect to see more soon!

is a player with two-way upside as a starter on the offensive and defensive line. On defense, Gage was a force all season as he racked up 38 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and two blocked kicks. Burki is currently one of the top players without an offer, but that seems likely to change soon with programs like Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Wyoming, South Dakota State, South Dakota, Fresno State, Wayne State, and Augustana all contacting the Titan’s star lineman.

had several elite flashes last season as he earned a role on the varsity rotation. Gage ended his sophomore season with 28 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks. I had the opportunity to watch Gage at one of our showcases and was impressed with his competitiveness and motor, both of which come across on his sophomore tape. The part of Gage’s game that stood out was his quick get off, flashing a fast first step that allows him to attack and gain ground on his opponent before they’re able to get set, and he had some plays where his speed helped him split the double team. Burki does a good job using his hands to break up any attempts to grab at him. Gage tracks the ball very well and shows a non-stop motor and lateral quickness to close on the ball effectively. Big year coming up for Gage!
