I have been a big fan of the Waukesha North athlete for a couple years now. He definitely needs to be on the radar of more teams. The senior has been making key plays on both sides of the ball all season long in 2023. On offense, Mead has been showing off his deep threat talents. He has the speed to get behind the secondary, and he finds and tracks the ball so easily. Elijah is also an effective route runner. He bursts out of his breaks opening up separation. On defense Elijah has surprised me. I have always thought of him as a WR, but the highlights show some impressive DB traits. He changes direction easily, is aggressive when attacking plays in front of him. He has range to go get the ball, even if it isn’t targeting his man. Don’t sleep on the play of the senior WR/DB.

. Mead looks to be more in position to be the team MVP because Waukesha North does like to go to the air often. However, they graduated two of their top three leading receivers. That leaves a huge void to be filled. With Elijah being the go to option now, we will need to see him put up big numbers for his team to find consistent success this fall. He has the talent to do it too. A breakout season could be incoming.

Elijah spent his junior season being a very productive receiver for Waukesha North. He is not new to our coverage as he made one of our in season Top Performer articles. Now he is back after a strong performance at the PRZ WI Showcase. It was all thanks to his play in the one on one battles.
The 5’9″ 160 lbs junior was one of our 4 receivers to earn a spot in the Best vs Best battles to end the Showcase. That was thanks to his play in the live action portion of the day. Elijah is a gamer. When the moment arose, Mead took over. He proved to be a dangerous route runner. His routes were crisp, he didn’t tip off his breaks, and there was no hesitation. He always knew exactly how he was going to run his route. Then he would snag the ball out of the air with a natural ease. This is the type of player you want to find. One that turns it on when the lights come on. I am expecting a productive senior season for the wide receiver. College coaches need to be aware of him.

Stats: 4 Tackles, 2 INTsrnThe junior is one to know. Both his INTs came in zone coverage. The first was him playing tighter coverage as he had the only WR on his side of the field. The second came from his ability to read the QB and get in the right position. Elijah has natural hands that easily pluck the ball out of the air. He also has the speed to be able to run with receivers throughout the route. Mead is also a playmaker on offense. He is a rising junior who I believe will be able to play on either side of the ball at the next level.Elijah’s Week One Highlights
