Every now and then we have to put the hand up and say we screwed up a ranking update. Jumping up nearly 100 spots in the last update is Booker T Washington defensive lineman Elias Sherman Elias Sherman 6'2" | DL Booker T. Washington | 2023 State OK but he never should have been that low back in the October update. Sherman was one of the more productive defensive linemen in the state, regardless of class. When it came to getting after the quarterback, few prospects in the state were as successful as Sherman. Now, Sherman doesn’t have the prototypical size at defensive lineman as some of the other prospects on this breakdown. But again, you cannot argue with the production that he had at a very high level.

Another game-wrecker on the defensive side of the ball this season was Booker T Washington senior defensive lineman Elias Sherman Elias Sherman 6'2" | DL Booker T. Washington | 2023 State OK . The Hornet standout is a perfect example of another player who has earned “breakout star” status after going from a solid starter to one of the most productive players at his position in the state. Sherman lived in opposing backfields and was right there with Davis at Carl Albert in terms of getting to the quarterbacks. Sherman racked up the sacks throughout the season and even though Booker T Washington didn’t have the season that they would have liked, they still had several players dramatically raise their stock with outstanding performances and Sherman was one of the top guys.

The second standout from Booker T Washington is Elias Sherman Elias Sherman 6'2" | DL Booker T. Washington | 2023 State OK . We knew about the defensive end coming into the season but we have to put our hand up, we didn’t see this one coming. As the Hornets go into the playoffs, Sherman is getting close to having 15 sacks on the season. He’s been an absolute nightmare for opposing offensive linemen and he’s been living in the backfield. It definitely helps that he’s playing alongside another solid lineman with Amondre Tiger Amondre Tiger 6'1" | DL Booker T. Washington | 2023 State OK but the two compliment each other incredibly well. Sherman is definitely a prospect who’s stock is going up in a big way after a fantastic senior season and he’s not done yet.
