Eli Myers Eli Myers 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Collierville | 2024 State TN is a very instinctive and athletic LB out of Collierville. He shows a good key and diagnose of run concepts with active feet and eyes. Against the run, Myers is disciplined and shows good block avoidance. Scrappy LB with good play speed to get to his spots and uses his hands well to keep himself clean. Watching the film, he is a consistent tackler and takes good angles to the point of attack. Overall, has a great feel of when to shoot gaps and is a play maker in the backfield.

As we start to head into spring practice for high school teams across the state, Myers has yet to see much action with his recruitment and that’s surprising as this West Tennessee product has the size, smarts and speed that should be more than intriguing to collegiate coaches. Myers put together a very productive junior season where he was one of the top defensive performers for his Dragons team and his film is quite strong as well. He shows excellent instincts along with range and closing speed as well as the potential to play multiple linebacker roles. Myers has the physical abilities and mental makeup to develop into an every day starter in college but just needs someone to take a chance on his upside.

Myers appears to have solid length. Good communicator. Patient when making his reads. Does a good job of keeping his shoulders square to the line. Flexibility and quickness allow him to work his way through traffic to the ball carrier when playing between the tackles. Gets good extension when playing off blocks and holds the point of attack better than his size would suggest. Smooth, good athlete who is capable of getting to the edge and chasing down ballcarriers on outside rushing attempts, sweeps, etc.; shows a solid motor in pursuit.
