Dillon Smith Dillon Smith 6'4" | 250 lbs | DL Ryle | 2025 State KY is a player that has been on our radar for a while now and continued to impress this past season. Smith lines up at defensive end where he is very impressive against the run. He does a great job of reading the play then shedding his blocks quickly to get to the ball carrier. After seeing where the ball is going, Smith has shown the ability to use his speed to get to the ball carrier and make the tackle before they can get going. Dillon finished his junior year with 56 tackles and eight tackles for loss in 13 games. Smith has also shown the ability to make plays against the pass, both as a rusher and in coverage. He finished this past season with six sacks and three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown). Dillon is committed to Louisville where I can see him developing into a key piece of their defense.

Smith doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way going into his senior year as he definitely has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

He finished his sophomore year with 58 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, and nine sacks. Smith lines up at defensive end where he is a very impressive pass rusher. He has a quick first step and plays with a very high motor , showing the ability to blow by opposing offensive tackles off the edge. Smith has also shown the ability to fight through blocks on his way to the quarterback. Against the run, Smith does a great job of squeezing the edge and reading the play when the run is away from him. Once he sees where the ball is going, he gets to the ball carrier in a hurry and is a very reliable tackler in the open field. Dillon doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on over the next two seasons as he has the talent to play at the next level.

He finished this past season with 58 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and one fumble recovery. Smith has an extremely quick first step out of his stance  from the defensive end position and is able to use his speed to his advantage to burst into the backfield before opposing offensive lineman have a chance to react. As a pass rusher, he plays with a very high motor and has shown the ability to defeat blocks quickly on his way to the quarterback. He is also very impressive against the run, showing the patience to squeeze the end of the line of scrimmage and read the play. Once he sees where the ball is going, he uses his speed to get there quickly and is a very reliable open field tackler. Dillon doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way eventually as he has the talent to play at the next level.
