Dereon Crowe Dereon Crowe 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Owensboro Catholic | 2025 State KY is a player that climbed up our rankings following a strong junior season. Crowe lines up at outside linebacker where his is very impressive against the run. He does a great job of reading his keys and flowing to the ball carrier in a hurry to make the tackle in the open field. Crowe finished this past season with 64 tackles and nine tackles for loss in 13 games. He also finished the year with three sacks and made an impact on offense, scoring six rushing touchdowns and catching five touchdown passes. Dereon currently holds offers from Illinois State and Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as a lot of eyes should be on him after transferring to Owensboro Catholic.

He had a strong sophomore season, finishing with 47 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and two fumble recoveries with one of them being returned for a touchdown. Crowe is a versatile linebacker that has shown the ability to play both on the inside and off the edge as an outside linebacker. He is a dangerous pass rusher, showing the speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles and strength to fight through blocks on his way to the quarterback. From the inside linebacker spot, he does a great job of reading his keys and coming downhill to fill the lane against the run. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he is a very reliable tackler. Dereon doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be a player to watch as he has the talent to play at the next level.

Dereon specializes in putting tons of pressure on the offense right when the ball is snapped. the 6-1 linebacker is excellent at reading offensive shifts and can easily anticipate the play for him to rush on a blitz at the right time. When rushing, Crowe is a brute that uses his “lineman-like” strength to knock down opposing linemen to get to the quarterback. Another aspect to look at is Crowe’s hand skills as they mimic that of an outstanding edge rusher. Dereon effectively uses his hands and upper half to leverage past blockers to put pressure and help him make easier pin-downs when making a tackle. Right now, Crowe has not announced any offers/interests from any collegiate schools, but I expect that to change sooner than later.
