Washington has been on my radar for a few months. Here is my note on him from a few months ago.

5/12/25: 12.17 100M, 19′ 7.5” LJ (2024). Smaller, wiry frame. Looks long for his height. Light on his feet, matches well at LOS and TOR. Does a good job getting his hands on receivers early in press. Ties up well at the top of routes. Willing as a tackler, attacks the trunk. Don’t see Holds FCS offers.

Darrell Washington Darrell Washington 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB Prattville | 2027 State AL is a lockdown DB out of Prattville who has become a big piece of their secondary in the last year.

Washington is a dominant man-to-man corner who thrives on his physicality in coverage. He consistently wins at the line of scrimmage, jamming WRs up and re-routing them to completely take them out of plays. On top of that, he’s really good at getting his hands on the ball to jar free passes for some huge stops.

I love seeing how Washington defends the run. He doesn’t shy away from contact and quickly flies downhill to deliver some huge hits/tackles in the backfield, or for little gain. It’s clear Washington has a well-rounded skill set- he’ll be a DB that offenses have to plan around this fall.

Earlier this month, Washington picked up his first offer from North Alabama! With his talent, he’s only going to see more head his way- he’s a talented player with a big season ahead.
