Jones led the event with a 10 ft 4 in broad jump! Jones showed off his very good athletic ability throughout the event, especially during the individual drills and 7 on 7 portion of the event. Jones used his good release to beat the DB at the line of scrimmage. Very good separation quickness and clean cuts into his route. Very good catching and ball tracking skills. He’d jump up for the contested catch as well. He’s a versatile prospect who can play both wide receiver and safety, and had a great overall performance!

Jones has been making an impact on both sides of the ball. The 6’0 180-pound athlete has 22 receptions for 316 yards and 4 touchdowns, with 45 total tackles (22 solo, 23 assisted), 1 TFL, 3 INT, and 4 PD. Jones has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, good change of direction and jumping. On the defensive side, he runs with a head full of steam like a heat seeking missile. Very good reactionary speed. Very good in run support and very good tackling. He’s one of the first players to create contact with the running back, and he’s a deep safety. Wow. Good strength and a hard hitter. Jones is also good at jamming the wide receiver at the line of scrimmage. He’s a versatile safety, and I love how he plays defense.

Jones enters this season as a young, ascending talent ready to breakout. His offseason in the weight room has enhanced his physicality, allowing him to fly downhill and make strong tackles in run support. Jones has the range to patrol his half of the field while maintaining depth to prevent explosive passing plays. His instincts help him diagnose routes and react quickly, making him a reliable last line of defense. Against an offense capable of stretching the field, his discipline in coverage will be vital. Week 0 offers Jones the perfect opportunity to showcase his all around game and establish himself as a defensive leader for his team.

One of the standout young talents on stacked program, Jones is already making a name for himself as a lockdown defender. His range, closing speed, and open field tackling make him a problem for opposing offenses. His ability to drop into deep coverage or stepping up to deliver a hit in the run game, he brings balance and playmaking ability. With college scouts already circling the program, Jones has a strong foundation to build on and should emerge as a centerpiece of a defense ready to turn heads statewide.

A physical safety with a wide receiver background, Jones brings a well rounded skill set to the secondary. He totaled 54 tackles and picked off two passes last season, consistently demonstrating strong field vision and an aggressive mindset. His ability to break on the ball and step into the box to deliver hits makes him a versatile threat. As he continues to develop, Jones looks like a future leader on defense and a name to watch across the state.

Jones was a technically sound player that was smooth in his route running ability. He was able to create space and showed some soft hands when hauling in the ball. In drill work he was able to not have many drops and was able to go up and high point the ball. In one on ones he was able to show strong hands being able to win contested catches.
