Expert Analysis
Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Koauhi showed off his big play ability at the event. Measures in at 6’2 174-pounds, 75” wingspan, and 9” hand size. He has good athletic ability due to his very good acceleration, speed, good change of direction, and jumping. During the competition, he showed off his very good release against both off coverage and the press jam. Used quick cuts breaking into his routes paired with very good separation quickness. Good ball tracking and catching. Extends his arms and rips the ball out of the air. Like I’ve said earlier, DBs were scrappy. He matched that aggressiveness and came down with contested catches. Good body control and adjustment. He’s a rising name to know with big play ability. Look out for Kouahi.

Kouahi arrives this season ready to make an immediate impact. A polished route runner, Kouahi’s precision and quickness in and out of breaks make him a player that is able to consistently create separation. His offseason work on the camp circuit sharpened his technique and built confidence heading into Week 0. With the size to win contested catches and the burst to accelerate past defenders, he is a mismatch for opposing secondaries. Kouahi excels at stacking cornerbacks and using his body control to high point the football. Pairing with one of the top quarterbacks in the state, his ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities could make him one of the breakout receivers in Colorado this season.

– Kouahi officially introduced himself to me, the state of Colorado and anybody else who may have been watching last March when he went off for four touchdowns in the Colorado Youth Football Invitational. At no surprise, he was named Athlete of The Game for his efforts
– After taking the field for Highlands Ranch Mountain Lions Black a year ago, he’s running with the Colorado Jr. Buffs this year and is off to a fast start. While he’s just one of the options on the outside this season, he knows what to do with the ball in his hands
– It feels weird saying he’s unassumingly fast, but on film it doesn’t look like Kouahi is moving fast until he’s blowing by helpless defensive back’s in their backpedal, as he’s throwing his arm up to the quarterback, asking to be hit deep. Don’t get it twisted though, he’s not just a one-trick pony. Kouahi is more than capable of taking a slot screen to the house too
