Cody Wells Cody Wells 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Notre Dame Prep | 2025 State AZ was flying around the field for this Saints’ defense. He showed his great instincts and allowed them to lead him to the ball by following the flow of the offense. He has some impressive speed for a player with a large frame and that really helps him in coverage, where his size would usually be a disadvantage. Instead, his length is a massive advantage both in coverage and to keep linemen far away. By staying farther away he makes it easier to shed blocks and attack the ballcarrier.

Wells is one of the fastest rising 2025 recruits in the state this offseason pulling in five D1 offers and committing to Nevada. The 6’3” 210 lb. LB is a plus athlete with a knack to quickly locate and chase the ball carrier. He’s able to trigger quickly to the ball anticipating and making decisive run/pass reads as the play is developing. Range allows him to cover ground and close space using his speed and short-area burst to accelerate to the ball and through contact at the POA. Brings heavy thump as a tackler that accelerates his hips and feet at the contact point to violently finish ball carriers to the ground. Has three down potential and room to add weight to his frame without sacrificing his athleticism and speed when he gets to the college level.

Wells is an instinctual LB with a great nose for the football. At 6’3” 210 lbs. colleges like his crafty athleticism in addition to his length/growth potential. He’s smooth with his movement showing great body control and coordination to avoid contact with blockers while redirecting to chase the ball. Closes space quickly using his speed and short area acceleration. Flies around full speed sideline to sideline taking aggressive angles in pursuit and bringing heavy contact. Strong form tackler that plays with leverage at the POA and explodes through contact to be a consistent finisher. Athletic enough to be a three down LB at the college level. Possesses a ton of upside as his recruiting continues to build now holding four D1 offers.
