Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A tough, hard-hitting linebacker who can play in space and make plays in coverage, this South Florida commitment was an easy addition to the latest rankings update after a strong senior season where he delivered massive hits all season long. He reads the run quickly and reacts instantly, constantly finding himself to the ball-carrier. The sure-tackling linebacker made 68 tackles last fall, 8 TFLs and four sacks to go along with one INT and an impressive four forced fumbles. He was one of the top linebackers in Cobb County last fall and is now ranked as the No. 203 overall prospect in the state.

Maybe my most-watched player in the 2025 class. 6’3 230 with impressive length and athleticism. He rallies to the football from several spots. He can rush the passer and even drop back into coverage. Every team needs players who can rally to the football, and

does that from several spots. He also does that with ideal measureables. Not to mention, he has consistently improved each year at the HS level.

improved drastically each year and ended his HS career with a P4 grade from me. He is headed to USF, giving the Bulls a massive steal and a fantastic value pickup. Smith is a true Swiss army knife. He can fire off the edge, play off-ball LB, and will even act as a big nickel at times. Regardless, he is a 6’3 230 fiery athlete who flies to the football, strikes hard, and has enough range to drop into coverage. He is a true run-and-chase defender with every-down potential. I wouldn’t be shocked to see

has become a favorite amongst our PRZ scouts, and for good reason. He is a long, extremely athletic edge rusher with plenty of physical upside left in the tank. However, he is still massively under the radar. Here is one of my recent evals:

gets better and better. He is one of the more underappreciated athletes in GA’s 2025 class, coming in at 6’3 225 with long arms and impressive speed. He will project as an OLB, winning against tackles when rushing the passer thanks to his speed and bend alone. When he has to eventually develop more secondary moves, it should come easier for him thanks to his long arms. He drops back into coverage as a second-level defender as well, and flashes some downhill striking ability.”

is an underrated EDGE prospect steadily making strides this offseason and growing into his frame. His frame and athleticism is impressive, coming in at 6’3 225 with an 82 inch wingspan. He has also ran 4.7 laser timed in the 40. Smith has the speed and length to consistently threaten the edge. He also plays with outstanding pursuit skills, quickly closing space between himself and the football and using his large tackling radius to funnel ball carriers and make tough tackles. On tape, he is noticeably thin, but will play bigger this year. He has the chance to develop into a speed to power rusher at the next level. As he gets bigger and learns to anchor down on the edge, he could develop into a contributor at the D1 level.

has shown tremendous growth over the course of his junior season and this offseason, improving his stock seemingly every week. Athletically, there is plenty to like about his projection to the EDGE spot. Smith measures in at 6’3 with long arms and is starting to add some weight to his lean, athletic frame. On his junior tape, he almost looks like a safety firing off the edge, proving too much athletically for blockers and quickly closing space once he is running free. When he has to settle down in space, he is light enough on his feet to mirror ball carriers and make a clean tackle. Even for his thinner frame, he showed the willingness to fight through blocks in the run game and chip off blocks in his pass rush. Now, he is finally showing the potential to convert his speed to power. Smith is starting to reach his potential and should gift a school at the next level with a long, speedy pass rusher.

Smith outstanding Camp. Measured at 6’3 209 and had the fastest time for the over 200 pound crowd and a Top 15 time overall.
Recognized by the coaches as one of the Top 3 LB prospects at the camp. Looked good in the 1v1s with good closing speed and the ability to cover RBs in the passing game.
Smith has had a very productive off season already. He won the MVP at the Elite Classic game in December to go along with his accolades on Saturday. Big Senior year coming for this at Harrison.
