Olrick Johnson jumped on my radar towards the end of his sophomore season, and he has continued to impress and raise his stock. Johnson is a truly explosive, fiery pursuer of the football. He is quick to diagnose and close space. Violent and will strike at contact. Johnson holds FBS offers, but he could rise up another level this offseason.

A breakout linebacker to know in Cobb County, Johnson wasn’t only added to the latest rankings update but made a big jump in it after a really strong junior season for the Harrison Hoyas. He shows impressive quickness, a strong motor, and the ability to chase down the ball-carrier. He’s also one of the top overall pass-rushers in the region and across West Cobb. He brings D1-caliber size at 6-foot-2 210-pounds and is coming off an extremely productive 2025 season where he made 100 tackles, 14.5 TFLs, 12.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He’s now ranked as the No. 9 LB prospect in the state for the 2027 class.

A breakout 2027 linebacker from Cobb County, Johnson is a speedy defender with an aggressive style of play. He’s a natural run defender who loves contact and knows how to deliver a big hit on the ball-carrier. He was one of the more productive defenders in the area and top overall linebackers in the region as he made 100 tackles, 12.5 sacks and 14.5 more TFLs through 10 games of the regular season. He flashed easy D1-potential and earned a big offer from Toledo. Don’t be surprised if some Power Four interest and offers come his way this winter along with a big bump in the 2027 Prep Redzone rankings.

I stumbled across Johnson just before the season started, and he is having a fantastic start to his junior season. Johnson is the son of a former NFL player. His HT/WT are requisite at 6’1 200. He is athletic, violent, and leverages the ball well. He is a pursuer in the second level who is sudden enough to knife into the backfield and make plays behind the LOS. Johnson is a clear FBS prospect who could generate P4 attention this offseason.

A playmaking defender on the rise in Cobb County, Johnson is a max-effort linebacker who brings a nice combination is strength, toughness, and pursuit. He runs well but has proven to be one of the toughest and hardest hitters in the region. The promising junior has made 47 tackles through his first four games to go along with three TFLs and three sacks with one forced fumble. He closes quickly due to his quickness and ability to play fast. He’s a sleeper 2027 linebacker to know in the Marietta area who will be an easy addition to the next rankings update.
