It’s been a buzzy offseason so far for Watson, who broke onto the scene with a big fall as a sophomore. There’s still a chance Watson projects out as an ATH, but there is plenty to like about him as an ATH, but also as a QB. He doubles as a baseball prospect, and specifically, a middle infielder, so there is the natural ability to work different arm angles and platforms, plus the natural arm. Watson is an explosive, compressed athlete with impressive vision and bounce in the short areas, allowing him to dance around contact and find space to operate. Watson is a true dual-threat at QB who has plenty more left to give.

is one of the better players in the class of 2028, as he did very well this last season, becoming one of the passing leaders in the state of Georgia. On top of that, he was someone who did very well this offseason at some events, including the big event that he attended, which was the Elite 11. This was an event that impressed me at, and when he is at his best, he is someone who could turn any game around. When Watson does well, he is by far one of the better players in the country.

One of the top returning quarterbacks in Cobb County, Aidan Watson is a playmaking dual threat quarterback who shined as a passer while also creating big plays with his legs throughout his sophomore season last fall. He rushed for 728 yards for the Harrison Hoyas in 2025 with an impressive 12 touchdowns on the ground. His biggest game came against Marietta where he ran for 188 yards and 6 touchdowns. He’s one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in Metro Atlanta, with easy D one caliber talent. Don’t be surprised to see him light up the stat sheet again, both through the air and on the ground in 2026.

I am familiar with Watson and how he plays, but this was a bit shocking to me. There are plenty of talented quarterbacks at events like this, but even with all of the top-end talent, the 2028 quarterback made headlines. He is one of the better 2028 quarterbacks in the state and will only improve. He is dangerously accurate and one of the more coachable athletes in the state, from what I have been able to see. He will not make the same mistake more than once.

One of the top dual-threat quarterback prospects across the state, Watson is a dynamic young passer who can really run and beat defenses in different ways. He shows impressive arm strength, ball placement, and can fit the ball into tight windows. He plays with poise, confidence, and is smart with the football. He understands the position and is coming off a breakout sophomore season where he threw for 2,334 yards and 23 touchdowns with just one INT. He also showed he can make big plays with his legs as he ran for a team-leading 728 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. Offers should come his way in 2026 and he’s now ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 8 QB prospect in the state for the 2028 class.

One of the breakout 2028 quarterbacks across the state this fall, Watson has really emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in his class during his outstanding sophomore season. The dual-threat quarterback from Cobb County, leading the Hoyas to an impressive 9-1 record, has thrown for 2,113 yards and 23 touchdowns. He’s efficient, safe with the ball, and consistently makes good decisions when reading the defense and finding the correct option down the field. He’s also made big plays on the ground as he’s run for 540 yards and six touchdowns. He’s a quarterback who should see a big rankings boost in the next 2028 Prep Redzone update.

Watson is in the middle of a breakout season for Harrison and is one of the most productive playmakers in GA at the QB position. Watson is a stout, compact baseball athlete with a quick release. The ball jumps out of his hand, and he hits his receivers in stride vertically. He can mix into different trajectories to make difficult throws. He doubles as the leading rusher for Harrison. He isn’t just a chain mover, he is both explosive and athletic enough to be schemed up opportunities. Watson is a fun watch and still has 2 more years to develop.

One of the top overall quarterbacks in Cobb County right now, Watson may be a sophomore, but he’s playing like a seasoned veteran right now for the 4-0 Hoyas. Watson has been efficient and safe with the football while being able to make big throws with his arm. The multi-sport dual-threat quarterback has thrown for 1,045 yards and 11 touchdowns with zero INTs. He’s also made plays on the ground as he’s rushed for 213 yards and one touchdown. He’s averaging 11.8 yards a carry and completing 73% of his passes. His stock is rising and offers are likely to come his way in bunches next year.

We will have to wait until the season starts to see how the Harrison QB situation shakes out as they replace their QB1. Watson is definitely a guy I like on film and no doubt will make an impact on the Hoyas over the next 3 seasons. He showed flashes of his potential this Spring and over the Summer during 7 v 7 and padded camps. A multisport athlete that plays SS on the Diamond and gets it done in the classroom.
What Stands Out: Work ethic. I like guys who are multisport standouts, especially at the QB position. You can see from his speed on the base paths that Watson will be a future dual threat at the QB position. Very calm in the pocket and has a very quick release. Accurate downfield.
Outlook: No doubt Watson gets his chance at QB over the next 3 seasons. He possesses all the natural tools to be a successful dual threat for the Hoyas. One to keep an eye on.
