Tracking the football in the air is an underrated trait in receivers that most people may not think of when looking for the best traits at that position but is a valuable asset to have in your arsenal. Independence 2026 WR Christian Linksweiler Christian Linksweiler 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Independence | 2026 State WV easily showcased that ability the best among his fellow pass catchers which shows up on the very first play of his junior tape. He’s excellent at tracking the ball over his shoulder either in stride or contorting his body to find the ball. Linksweiler has great hand-eye coordination to find the ball in difficult circumstances at times and understands when he needs to slow down or speed up during his route to adjust to the ball’s path. Linksweiler has a natural feel as a pass catcher which directly translates to his ball-tracking ability.

Christian Linksweiler Christian Linksweiler 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Independence | 2026 State WV built on his sophomore campaign with a breakout junior season for the Independence Patriots in 2024 which earned him a spot among the 20 best receivers in the 2026 class. Even with a first-time variety freshman starter behind center, Linkswiler built a strong rapport with his new quarterback and became a reliable target and go-to receiver as a junior. He’s a natural playmaker at receiver with innate ball skills that make him a deep play threat. Linksweiler is a natural over-the-shoulder receiver who can do so in stride and off balance. Linksweiler also does a great job catching in traffic and fighting through contact to secure the catch.

2026 Independence receiver Christian Linksweiler Christian Linksweiler 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Independence | 2026 State WV caught just 3 passes against Philip Barbour but went over 100 yards in the game as a big play threat for the Patriots.
He got vertical on all three catches and found himself behind the Colts’ defense several times. Although Linksweiler didn’t score, he set his team up deep inside enemy territory as the Patriots cruised to a 49-17 win. He’s made some great contested catches this season and made another one in the quarterfinals last week as he approaches 1,000 yards for his junior year.

2026 Independence WR Christian Linksweiler Christian Linksweiler 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Independence | 2026 State WV has had a good start to his junior season hauling in 10 passes for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns. He’s a big play receiver for the Patriots averaging over 25 yards per catch and has quality size on the outside.
Linksweiler is the type of receiver that you can throw it up to and let him make a play which he showed in week three against Nicholas County with two long catches with defenders draped over him and coming down with the contested catch. He’s also shown to be a willing blocker further utilizing his size to his advantage as an unselfish player when the ball isn’t coming his way.

I think Independence WR Christian Linksweiler Christian Linksweiler 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Independence | 2026 State WV is primed for a big breakout junior season for the Patriots and could really make a big jump in the rankings. Receiver highlights were limited but from what was available I saw a lot of good things and you could see the potential he has. Linskweiler is also a quality defensive back where he also showed flashes but I think his potential at receiver can be really high. He has good size already at 6’0 175 and has the family pedigree to develop into a high-level player. Older brother Tyler Linksweiler Tyler Linksweiler 5'10" | 170 lbs | RB Independence | 2024 State WV just finished his senior season rushing for 1,600 yards so younger brother Christian has the athletic background to be a high-ceiling player as well. Linksweiler showed good stem and stack technique on his routes and Independence will be looking for a receiver to be their #1 guy in 2024. With the young talent they have in the program, I think they’ll continue their streak of successful teams and are starting to become a Southern WV power.
