Davis is part of this top group of DL prospects in AL. What I initially thought would be an EDGE projection is looking more like a DL projection at this stage, especially since he is now listed around 280 pounds. He is a long, cut athlete who is fun to watch at the POA. He carries some heavy hands, which he uses in conjunction with his length to manipulate blockers and shed. He is an impressive athlete who can finish as a tackler and has enough of a top gear to offer some chase ability. I think he will stick as a 3T, with the ability to flex out as a 5T when needed.
“Davis is a well-rounded EDGE who can wreak havoc against the run and pass. He’s quick off the snap and has impressive speed and power he uses to instantly put OL on their heels. Davis is constantly in the backfield making plays. He’s terrific against the run, consistently closing up rushing lanes all by himself to make tackles for loss.
On top of that, Davis is just as productive as a pass rusher. He constantly generates pressure and places hits on the quarterback, making him an every-down threat to opposing offenses.”
Davis has seen his recruitment open up this offseason, picking up offers from Troy and others earlier this month.
If you haven’t watched any of Davis’ tape before, be sure to take a look below. He’s a talented EDGE with a huge senior season ahead next fall.
Davis plays with consistent violence at the point of attack. His lower-body and core strength show up immediately when working through double teams and angle blocks — he absorbs contact without surrendering ground. There’s real anchor ability here, paired with the strength to re-establish leverage mid-rep.
As a pass rusher, he shows urgency and purpose. The bull rush is effective, and his nuanced hand usage allows him to counter with swim variations when linemen overset. Against the run, he flashes enough burst to finish in space and make open-field tackles. The combination of size, strength, and quickness fits naturally in a 3-4 front. Davis has the potential to be a power five prospect due to his proven production, size, athleticism, and upside- look for him to be a consistent name in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
Davis is a versatile front-line defender for BRHS who is a candidate to slide inside once fully developed. He is strong at the point of attack, hard to move, and uses his length to engulf ball carriers and keep his chest clean. He bends and maneuvers himself around blockers well, but long term, I think he will be best by adding weight and acting as a plugger on the inside who is athletic enough to make plays around the line of scrimmage. Davis holds D1 offers.
