Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Hurley is a phenomenal two-way player for Pueblo South. Measuring in at 6’0 195 pounds, the LB/RB had standout seasons at both positions. As a RB, he had 140 carries for 972 yards and 11 touchdowns with 9 receptions for 143 yards. As a LB, he had 114 total tackles (92 solo, 22 assisted), 11 TFL, 1 sack, 2 INT, and 1 FF. Very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, balance, and good change of direction. Hurley has very good reaction time. He trusts what he sees and attacks. He is a great blitzer, using his good block shedding skills and very good get off speed to break through the OL. Very good tackler. He wraps them up and pulls them down. Patient in the run game, and doesn’t miss his assignments. As a RB, he demonstrates home run speed and very good vision to weave through the defense. He isn’t afraid of putting his shoulder down and creating contact. Thrives with physicality. Watch out for this beast going into next season!

Pueblo South has a plethora of talent, and this kid is no different. The 6’0 195-pound LB/RB had 114 total tackles (92 solo ~ 1st, 22 assisted), 11 TFL, 1 sack, 2 INT, 1 FF, 140 carries for 972 yards and 11 touchdowns with 9 receptions for 143 yards. Hurley has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, change of direction, and balance. Very good mental processing by choosing the correct gap to rush leading to a TFL. He lives in the backfield. He is slippery through the tackles, making himself smaller than he is, both at LB and RB. Hurley is a fantastic blitzer and uses his speed to get in the backfield before the offense can react. Very good strength, and tackling. Hurley throws down defenders with ease, and runs through blocks. He also is patient. Doesn’t miss tackles due to not being overzealous. Very good run stopper. He is also a game breaking running back that uses his home run speed and physicality to run through defenses. Hurley is a two-way beast, and colleges would be doing themselves a disservice by not looking his way.

Hurley is a bruising back that has good vision, being able to find the hole and punish defenders in his way. He is able to break through arm tackles and make the first defender miss. He is dangerous around the goal line and makes the defense key in on him inside the 10. He will be a player looking to break the 1,000 yard mark and will be a player to add to the radar this season.
