About Caleb
Expert Analysis
Herman Thomas | Prep Redzone Scout
Blocker is lightning in a bottle. He is an electric player who knows how to get a crowd on its feet with his runs. He is a slippery runner who also has the power to break through tackles and accelerate to the endzone. Blocker is a big play waiting to happen. He gain grind out runs consistently without showing fatigue, and can also bounce it outside and outrun an entire defense. He reads his blocks very well, letting the blocks develop, and then attacking the open lane with force. Blocker ran for 1,150 yards and 13 touchdowns on 150 carries and was an overall very productive player last year. We cannot wait to see what he brings for the upcoming season.

Blocker has a stout, compact build, with broad shoulders and a solid lower torso tailor made for carrying the load of an offense. Caleb has jitterbug quickness, he has oily hips that enable him to shift his weight quickly and his ability to burst in and out of his cuts, allows him to be elusive in the open field. Blocker had an Overall MVP Performance at the Select 50 Showcase and was also selected as the Running Back MVP due to versatile skill set. During the pass protection 1v1 vs the linebackers, Blocker didn’t lose any reps, showing off a powerful punch at engagement, he was technically sound, using a low center of gravity combined with proper hand placement to stonewall rushers in their path. Where Caleb showed his prowess the most was the agility drills, showing off superb footwork to go along with his phone booth quickness, which makes him a lethal weapon in the backfield. Blocker has reliable, late hands as a pass catcher, he tracks the ball like a hawk and his ability to rise, leap and extend to win on the jump ball gave him an edge multiple times during the 1v1s vs defensive backs and linebackers in tight coverage. Blocker has a swiss army knife type skill set to win any matchup when the lights are on. Caleb has added noticeable mass to his frame this off season but has not lost any burst to his game. Caleb has been flying under the radar in a running back heavy class in the state of Texas but those days are about to come to an end. Texas Southern was his first college offer this spring, as well as several visits to Lamar and Texas State. Blocker has the goods that colleges seek out and there will be more suitors headed to Katy to get eyes on Caleb.

This Young Man Is Physical! He fights for every yard! Passing the football was nonexistent for the Tompkins Katy Football team, and Blocker and company made the most of their carries. He has a great ability to make defenders miss in space. I like his contact balance. Good, not great size, he can set defenders up and break the opposite way before they could realize it! Blocker had solid speed, but probably won’t outrun corners and safeties to the endzone on long runs. He also sets up his blocking well, allowing them to get a hat on a hat and he does the rest. He may not be a blazer, but he accelerates with the best of them. Blocker is in primed position to skyrocket up ranking lists!
