Potential is high on all of the players listed and all have shown they have what it takes to be great. The backs listed have earned this spotlight and we get a chance to see what they can do for theor senior years as they leave their marks on the field.
Arthur looks to have the total package at the running back position. With great vision, he navigates through run lanes and has the strength to break through arm tackles and shake off defenders. Arthur has the break away speed needed to make house calls. Once he is in the open field it is rare that he is caught from behind. He shows great explosiveness and agility, eluding tacklers in tight windows and showing the awareness to work up the field. Arthur sets his blocks up very well using patience, then planting a foot in the ground and switching gears heading to the next level. Arthur ran for 1,445 yards and 18 touchdowns on 159 carries. He has made a name for himself and we expect even better things from him as he heads into his senior season.
Atkins is an elusive speedster who makes defenses pay when he hits the outside. He is a smooth runner who finds space and uses his agility to get by defenders and get big chunks on yards. Atkins also happens to be an excellent weapon catching the ball out of the backfield. He has strong, reliable hands, runs clean routes, and is a mismatch whenever he leaves the backfield. Atkins finished his junior season with 1,292 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 114 carries, and added 440 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns on 27 catches to the stat line. The Rice commit showed out and we expect to see more if not the same for the upcoming season.
Koby Fosher
Koby Fosher
Fosher showed to be a downhill runner who will make one move and gain chunk yards. With very good vision, Fosher locates the open lanes, makes a defender miss in the phone booth, and takes off. He has the strength and power to run through tackles and get those extra yards needed and was a threat in the passing game as well, making highlight catches. Fosher ended the year with 667 yards and 6 touchdowns on 118 carries.
Trey Morris
Trey Morris
The very recent Army commit was one of the top rushers in the state last season, putting up some insane numbers throughout the year including multiple 200+ yard games where he just took over. Morris is a game changer at the position and a back who will do whatever it takes to help his team get the victory. He is strong and a physical runner when he needs to be. Morris is explosive through the running lanes and accelerates through the second and third levels of a defense. He shows incredible vision, is elusive and shows break away speed. It is a true challenge to bring him to the ground on his way to the endzone. Morris ran for 1,950 yards and 24 touchdowns on 252 carries. A workhorse who continues to get better year after year.
Jones is an angry runner who plays with great physicality and explosion. He has the speed to outrun a secondary and the power to run right through them. Jones shows great agility in changing his gears, making defenders miss, and accelerating through holes. He is a balanced player who can beat you with speed and/or strength. He adds such a great dynamic to the offense and grinds out yards, wearing out a defense. Jones ran for 1,010 yards and 18 touchdowns. The All-District back has put his name on the radar and we expect big things out of him for his senior year.
Highlights
Blocker is lightning in a bottle. He is an electric player who knows how to get a crowd on its feet with his runs. He is a slippery runner who also has the power to break through tackles and accelerate to the endzone. Blocker is a big play waiting to happen. He gain grind out runs consistently without showing fatigue, and can also bounce it outside and outrun an entire defense. He reads his blocks very well, letting the blocks develop, and then attacking the open lane with force. Blocker ran for 1,150 yards and 13 touchdowns on 150 carries and was an overall very productive player last year. We cannot wait to see what he brings for the upcoming season.
