play football, my mind goes to what type of player he’ll be in college. Then I remember he’s headed to Baylor for baseball. The senior showed here again Friday why that’s disappointing for football coaches at the next level. He impacted the game on both sides of the ball. On offense, he caught five passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. He’d only had five receptions coming into the game, but that’s where he was needed Friday. On defense, he racked up 10.0 tackles (8 solo, 2.5 for loss) with a sack. He injured his hip area early in this game and powered through the pain. He’s a tough kid and a team player. He’s a winner.

White, a Baylor baseball pledge, certainly could play college football if he chose that path. With his swing, it makes sense that he’s chasing his diamond dreams. White is heart of a dominant defense that led the Spartans to the upset of Williamsburg. Beyond his physicality and speed at linebacker, White receives the signals from the sidelines and gets Solon aligned on the field. He’s not used on offense as much as he has been in the past, but he does play on that side of the ball in key moments.

White shines on the baseball diamond and that might be his college sport. However, he could help plenty of football programs on the next level. He’s a strong running back with good vision and power, but linebacker would be his best spot in college. He supports the run really well, finds his fits and moves well in coverage.
