Mangone is a QB who is starting to turn heads in the 2027 class, and for good reason. In Rush Henrietta’s win against University Prep, the Junior Signal Caller had 310 yards, and four touchdowns, while completing 18/21 passes. Mangone also had 28 rushing yards and a touchdown in a huge performance.

Mangone, who plays two-ways for Rush-Henrietta, was very productive this past year. An undersized prospect, he has time to continue getting bigger, stronger, and faster, but I really like the quickness and twitch he shows on tape. Based on athleticism alone, he could play a few different positions, but I will continue to track his development both overall and at the quarterback position.

The multi type of player for Rush Henrietta High School here with Brendan Magnone. For playing FS, QB, CB, and K this past year, Mangone put up impressive numbers with 1380 passing yards, 8 passing TDs, 614 rushing yards, and 10 rushing TDs. At the QB position, Mangone is an improviser as he could scramble to keep plays alive to then find his intended targets in the endzone. The read option was a heavy staple in this offense with Mangone. Read option plays granted Mangone a lot of success on the ground because of his quickness and speed to run away from defenses. However, Mangone was able to deliver in the passing game hitting passes down the field. Many accurate passes near the boundary or over the shoulder were hit in stride and a continuation of development here into Magone junior season is only going to attract more offers. For the FS position, Mangone knows how to read and react to come up with powerful tackles on ball carriers in between the hashes. The endless amount of hustle and not giving up on plays showed up tremendously on tape. The ability to play centerfield and be that last line of defense showed up. A very impressive player that will have a huge junior season ahead of him.

Mangone, a QB/CB prospect just like Buttles, needs to get bigger and stronger for both sides of the ball. He was one of a few freshman contributors on a Rush-Henrietta team filled with Youth and had a solid season, garnering some post-season honors. Mangon is fast and also a solid baseball player – 3.87 30-yard dash was the top time at Prep Baseball’s Scout Day in New York.
Mangone was a quarterback who could do a lot with his feet, which is why he was successful on both sides of the ball. His athleticism stands out on tape, and there is potential here that he could end up at QB, RB, WR, SAF, or CB, depending on the development of his measurables.
