If I were picking one Iowa prospect being under-recruited relative to talent on Oct. 9, 2025, Alford would be at, or near, the top of the list. I first scouted him at the Back2Ballin 7-on-7 tournament in April. He was working his way back from an injury that cost him some of last season. Still, you could see the quick-twitch athleticism that stands out in that competition. Alford flashed potential as a defensive back and receiver. I preferred his skill set in the secondary, however. I’m further convinced of that being his future home when watching senior highlights. Alford operates at a great tempo while being under control. He has a knack for making plays in coverage thanks to a quick burst and speedy diagnosis. Alford is physical and packs a punch at 6-1, 200. His talents are FCS level, at minimum.
