is a good athlete who played all over the field on offense for Cedar Cliff. He has great size (6’3″), strength, and athleticism. He is the Swiss Army Knife of Cedar Cliff’s offense. He plays both tight end and running back for Cedar Cliff. As a running back, he is a tough back for defenders to tackle. He was often used in short-yardage or on the goal line, where he was a battling ram and gained tough yards. As a tight end is shows incredible hands. His ability to catch the ball in traffic or in tight coverage is impressive. Then his best position might be as an edge rusher. He explodes off the edge and attacks offenses at a high rate. He gets off the ball quickly, and it allows him to be disruptive against opposing offenses. He also uses it well, especially a lethal swim move. Secrest has all the skills in the world, and he is a super-talented prospect.

Is a baseball prospect over at Cedar Cliff. 3.8 GPA. 6’3, 225 pounds. Wouldn’t be opposed to ranking Secrest as a pure “ATH” considering the number of quality reps he provides Cedar Cliff with at several different positions. A Division Two floor, an FCS ceiling in my opinion. It’ll be up to Secrest’s off-season development, whether or not he reaches his best self.
Diving into his sophomore tape, we’ll put recruiting aside for a bit. If I were a betting man, I’d bet that Secrest gets recruited to play linebacker. 34 tackles, 11 of which went for losses, tack on four sacks too. I don’t want to force a position on a kid who can play on the defensive line, a prospect who can block at fullback, a prospect who can catch 24 balls in ten games. Secrest scored on eight different occasions this past Fall, further proving his versatility. H-back/sniffer alignment is often seen on tape, a position/alignment that likely throws defensive match-ups in a blender. Can block in-line or after pre-snap motion behind the LOS. Is powerful enough to impact block against LBs and DBs. Can serve as a safety valve/flat option for his QB. Can play at the LOS as a 3-4 OLB. Secrest shows off the ability to score working seam benders from said sniffer position. Watching him score from 30-40 yards out, coupled with his comfortableness blocking and understanding of blocking schemes led me to rank him as a TE. We’ll see where coaches like him best.

is another talented prospect to check out this season for Cedar Cliff. Secrest is a good athlete who played as a tight end and defensive end last season. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:

is a good athlete who played tight end and defensive end for Cedar Cliff. He does a great job getting off the ball. He explodes off the ball and attacks the offensive backfield to create chaos. He uses his hands well by creating leverage against offensive linemen. Then he is constantly chasing plays all over the field. At tight end, he catches the ball well and makes defenders miss in space. Secrest is a good athlete who should only improve next season at both positions with more playing time”.

STANDOUT TRAIT ON TAPE: Read & React skills at all positions, Awareness
Can witness Secrest align at several different spots on the field. Can align in the backfield at FB or H-Back. Secrest provides a wide variety of athletic traits, you can expect him to take carries, block, or run to the flat from FB/H-Back positions, expect it all offensively. Secrest could more than likely align as an in-line or split-out tight-end on top of this, although not much of this on tape. Exemplary play on defense. Carries a traditional LB build, yet can align at traditional 4-3 DE. Blown away by this kid’s R&R skills, have to remind myself of his age. A freshman with this kind of awareness on both sides of the ball is rare. Understands how to set edges, understands when to take blocks head-on or when to stretch/pinch. Secrest is a game-wrecker, he can force turnovers, score on offense, rack up TFLs and sacks, this is a future top-tier prospect.
