Here’s a prospect I was particularly high on during my previous evaluations, which makes his lack of activity throughout the current season somewhat concerning. Currently listed at 6’4, 180 pounds, he possesses an outstanding combination of length, athletic versatility and long term developmental potential. He competes in swimming, including the 100 meter butterfly and freestyle, and participates in track and field as a hurdler, discus thrower and javelin thrower. That is an impressive athletic background for a young football player, especially one with the frame to potentially develop into a tight end, wide receiver or EDGE prospect at the collegiate level. His physical profile and multisport experience were major reasons I ranked him as highly as I did in the past, and I still believe there is serious potential here.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any activity on his Twitter or any football footage from the current season on Hudl. That is disappointing, particularly considering the recruiting potential I believe he possesses. Following his sophomore season at Cedar Cliff High School, I expected to see continued development and additional film that would help justify his position within our rankings. Instead, I’m left with several unanswered questions. Is he receiving varsity playing time? Is he still actively pursuing football? Has his focus shifted toward one of his other sports? Without recent footage or updates, it’s difficult to determine where he currently stands as a football prospect, let alone evaluate how much progress he has made since our previous assessment.
What makes this situation frustrating is that his physical and athletic foundation remains extremely intriguing. At 6’4, 180 pounds, he has the length to potentially develop into a receiving threat at tight end or wide receiver, while his frame could also support a future transition into an EDGE role if he continues adding strength and mass. His experience in swimming, hurdling and throwing events suggests a broad athletic background worth investigating further, although I would still need verified testing and updated football footage to determine how those traits translate to the field. There is simply too much potential here to dismiss him outright, but there also isn’t enough current information to confidently maintain his previous evaluation.
I’ll be checking back in after the season concludes to see whether any additional film or information becomes available. If there is still no indication of his current football involvement or development, I may have to move him from our official rankings to the watch list until we can establish a clearer understanding of his situation. That wouldn’t necessarily reflect a change in how I view his athletic ceiling, but rather the lack of recent evidence needed to support his ranking. I remain very interested in this prospect and hope to see him resurface with updated measurements, film and information about his role at Cedar Cliff. He has serious potential at several positions, and I’d much rather continue evaluating his development than lose track of a player with this kind of physical profile.
