A hard-hitting back with a high-motor, Dorenkamp can serve as a between-the-tackles runner while also bouncing it to the outside to make plays in space.

A favorite of mine in this class, Dorenkamp is more than worthy of a Division I offer after serving as Valley’s bell cow back and taking 191 carries for 997 yards and 12 scores. He also caught 22 passes for 206 yards.

Blake led the Tigers in rushing with 191 carries for 997 yards and 12 touchdowns, with an additional 22 catches and 206 receiving yards through the air. Blake has a strong, athletic frame that allows him to absorb contact while remaining shifty enough to cut back into open lanes. Blake does a great job running with a low, sturdy base and good pad level, making him even harder to bring down. Dorenkamp also stood out with some of his downhill runs, as he fired through his gap with an explosive burst of speed. Blake could also be used as a receiving back who can beat slower LBs in coverage or as a target with space and blockers in front of him.

One of my favorite overlooked prospects in 5A after catching him for the first time against Waukee Northwest earlier this year, Blake Dorenkamp Blake Dorenkamp 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Valley | 2027 State IA is among the best running backs in the state this season.

Leading Valley in rushing, Dorenkamp has taken 151 rushes for 817 yards and 11 touchdowns, serving as the bell-cow running back for the Tigers this season. Also split out wide from time to time and catching passes out of the backfield, Dorenkamp has caught 18 passes for 172 yards.
