Lockwood is a budding young player. Through 3 games, he has 22 total tackles (11 solo, 11 assisted), 4.5 TFL, including 1 reception for 31 yards and 1 touchdown. Lockwood has good athletic ability due to his very good acceleration, speed, good jumping, and change of direction. He’s a physical player on both sides of the ball. On his touchdown pass, he used his good jumping and ball adjustment skills to come down with the catch. Used his big frame to bulldoze through DBs and into the endzone. As a DB, he demonstrates a controlled back pedal and the re-routes receivers. Good coverage skills with very good pursuit. Lockwood is also shown to have a knack of getting physical and tackling. I love what I see so far, and I’m excited to keep an eye on him as he continues to develop.

Lockwood was locked in from the opening whistle, delivering a productive performance from his cornerback position. He finished with 15 total tackles and two tackles for loss, showing his willingness to contribute in run support. Lockwood brings a physical presence to the position and does a good job getting his hands on receivers to disrupt their timing. His activity around the football stood out throughout the game. At one point, his aggressiveness led to a pass interference penalty when he failed to get his head around but I loved the competitiveness. Lockwood flashed the tools of a young defensive back on the rise and continued development should make him a name to know this season.
