Early Bloomers: Players Making the Leap Through Week 3

Measures in at 6'0 185-pounds, the RB/DE Hargrove had 7 carries for 37 yards with 1 touchdown, and 7 receptions for 105 yards. Hargrove was lining up in the backfield and as a receiver at time. He has good athletic ability due to very good balance, good acceleration, change of direction, and speed. Very good vision. Hargrove has very good inside running and good outside running. He has a powerful stiff arm. A linebacker ran who a gap, he stiff armed him and threw him to the ground. In this game, Hargrove continued to shine as a receiving option. Very good ball tracking and catching skills. After the catch, he'd make defenders miss with his juke moves. He's shown to be a reliable safety valve for his QB, currently in 4th amongst all Colorado players in receiving yards. Keep an eye out for this back from Bear Creek.     Gunderson is showing everyone how great of a back he is. Through 3 games, he has 67 carries for 583 yards and 7 touchdowns, averaging 8.7 YPC, including 7 receptions for 133 yards with 1 touchdown. Gunderson has very good athletic ability due to his very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and balance. Very good vision. His smooth controlled jump cuts and patience separate himself from the rest of the pack. Picks, slides, and accelerates into an open hole. Gunderson displays very good inside running and outside running. Bounces to the perimeter and uses his home run speed to blaze past defenders. Displays very good contact balance and gain yards after getting hit. He's also a productive receiver as well. Take a look at this gem from Holy Family.     Minton is a versatile offensive lineman. Measures in at 6'2 275-pounds. Minton has a good initial quickness out of his stance. Due to his good knee bend, he maintains a low pad level to out leverage his opponent. Minton has good foot quickness, balance, and flexibility. Minton uses his very good strength and hand strength to control and steer his opponent. Very good hand placement too. Minton thrived in creating running lanes for his backs throughout against Arvada West. Used his powerful legs to drive defenders back. He also has a good anchor. Stands tall against powerful bull rushes and has the athletic ability to combat spin moves. He's an established lineman that is continuing to get better.     Isom measures in at 6'2 185-pounds playing LB. Through 3 games, he has 41 total tackles (13 solo, 28 assisted), 1 TFL, with 1 sack. Isom has good athletic ability due to very good lateral quickness, acceleration, good change of direction, and speed. Very good body control too. Isom uses his long strides and good range to prowl across the field. Good read and reaction speed. Isom is a stout run stopper, stuffing gaps and attacking the run. Very good get off and block shedding ability. Displays very good tackling skills. He has the athletic ability to cover TEs out in space and make his presence known in the passing game. Isom runs with a head full of steam and has great tackling angles. Rising linebacker from Fossil Ridge.     Lockwood is a budding young player. Through 3 games, he has 22 total tackles (11 solo, 11 assisted), 4.5 TFL, including 1 reception for 31 yards and 1 touchdown. Lockwood has good athletic ability due to his very good acceleration, speed, good jumping, and change of direction. He's a physical player on both sides of the ball. On his touchdown pass, he used his good jumping and ball adjustment skills to come down with the catch. Used his big frame to bulldoze through DBs and into the endzone. As a DB, he demonstrates a controlled back pedal and the re-routes receivers. Good coverage skills with very good pursuit. Lockwood is also shown to have a knack of getting physical and tackling. I love what I see so far, and I'm excited to keep an eye on him as he continues to develop.
