Expert Analysis
Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Catterfeld plays RT for Monarch. Measures in at 6’4 295-pounds, with 17 pancake blocks. Catterfeld has very good strength, hand strength, and hand placement. Good initial quickness out of his stance with good hand speed to engage the defender. Maintains a low pad level due to his good knee bend. He has very good balance, body control, and flexibility. Uses his good footwork to combat edge defenders. Very good anchor. He puts his legs in the ground, and it takes a lot to move him. As a run blocker, he demonstrates good pull blocking. Good acceleration and speed to get from 1st to 2nd level blocks and out into the perimeter. I’m intrigued to see which colleges start to offer. At the next level, I can see him slotting in as a guard too.

Catterfeld is a dominating presence at the right tackle position for Monarch. Measuring in at 6’4 295-pounds, he had 17 pancake blocks on the season. He’s a polished tackle in my eyes, consistently winning the rep at the point of attack. Very good balance, body control, flexibility, and good knee bend. Good initial quickness out of his stance. Very strength, hand placement, and hand strength. Locks out and controls the defender creating lanes or extra time in the pocket. Good foot quickness and footwork to match the DL. Very good anchor, neutralizing the pass rush moves. Catterfeld has good acceleration and speed to get out in space and block on the perimeter. He consistently plays through the whistle as well. I like what I see on tape, and I’m sure he’ll obtain some P4 offers as his high school career carries on.

Catterfeld is a rising trench warrior ready to take command this fall. With added strength and size, he’s become a force at the point of attack. He thrives as a run blocker, engaging defenders with violent hands and clearing paths with power. As a pass protector, Catterfeld has a solid base and has the footwork to mirror edge rushers. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and isn’t afraid to finish blocks with authority. His physical growth over the offseason has elevated his game and he’s trending toward being a cornerstone lineman for his squad.
