In all honesty, it’s tough to rank guys like Umeh, Andrews, and Newby, for obvious reasons. All three are worthy of this spot, all three garnered consideration, yet the spot ultimately went to the 6’5, 260-pound defender out of Avon Old Farms. Talking with prominent coaches actively recruiting Umeh before his commitment, they spoke about Umeh’s future potential coupled with the tools he already possesses. The young man’s upside is arguably higher than Reynolds and Lambert’s. Excited to see him work alongside several special defenders stationed at AOF.
