A giant QB prospect who will hold the reins of the Mustangs’ offense for the first time this season, Wheeler has been in the lab for years, gearing up for a massive senior campaign. He’s been a mainstay at camps, offseason workouts, and combines, all culminating with this season. The kid can sling it, too. He’s got a big arm and surprising mobility for a true 6’5″ athlete. He can throw on the run reliably and has high-level ball placement across the field. I’m ready for a big senior season from Wheeler.

Mounds View | 2026 MN had a good showing in Savage, displaying a live arm that could rip the ball off his back foot and stretch the field with ease, accuracy on the move, great size, and was noticeably consistent in drill work, especially towards the end of the night of competition. All the tools were there in the 6A signal-caller.
Beckham is a 2026 quarterback out of Mounds View that I have seen solid growth from since my last live evaluation. What stood out the most at Friday’s session was the developed mechanics I saw from him as I thought his arm motion stuck thru with more fluidity and speed than I had witnessed previously. I liked the natural instinct Beckham threw with on Friday as you can tell his poise has grown since posting his highlight tape as he is growing more comfortable in the pocket from the reps I watched. At 6’4 205 pounds, Beckham has plenty of upside to grow with two more years of high school football and looks like a prospect you will see on Saturdays.
At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, and just a sophomore, Wheeler has the prototypical size for a quarterback and the physical tools to succeed throughout his development. He stands tall in the pocket and remains poised under pressure. Wheeler has good footwork throughout his drop, delivers a strong pass with his cleats in the dirt, and has a wide base that generates power in his passes. He’s smooth when delivering passes on the run, keeping his mechanics intact and remaining accurate. Wheeler has great timing on his passes, getting his passes into tight windows and fitting the ball between zone defenders.
