An eye-catcher out of the loaded DL group that descended on the SDSU Jackrabbits’ second & final prospect camp of the summer, Clear Creek-Amana’s Avery Sorensen Avery Sorensen 6'3" | 200 lbs | DL/ATH Clear Creek-Amana | 2027 State IA was an imposing 6’1, 227 lbs. with good athleticism backing his standout game during 1v1s. Strong and powerful in offset base and run blocking/defeat drills, Sorensen also produced a 5.0 40, 4.8 shuttle, and 8′ broad jump during testing and was putting it to good use especially well during pass rush reps later in the session. Sorensen flashed upside offensively and defensively for Clear Creek Amana in 2025. The junior posted 15.5 tackles, seven of which were solo stops. He registered 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Long arms and active hands help in separating from blocks. He’s an obstacle in passing lanes, too. Quickness off of the snap and speed make it difficult for offensive tackles to square him up. Straight-line speed aids him in pursuing the ball. Sorensen operates with balance to keep himself in plays. It’s a set of skills that also work well at tight end as a quality target in the passing game and a blocker for the rush. Sorensen still has room to fill out, adding to his potential as a player that could help a roster on the next level.
